In mid 2006, it was decided to divide the activities of R.Maes - Algemene bouwondernemingen NV, into different legal entities.

The pure construction activities have been brought under a new company,
Algemene Bouw Maes NV (abbreviated as ABM), established by notarial deed on 18 December 2006.

On 27 January 2007, Van Roey NV in turn invested in the shareholding structure of this company (see also newsletter of 13/11/2006).

Algemene Bouw Maes NV is active primarily in the general construction sector, e.g. offices, apartments, industrial complexes, schools, etc. mainly in Flanders and Brussels, the capital of Europe. The company has a workforce of 175 people, of whom 40 clerical employees and 135 manual workers. It also has its own research and planning department.
